February Newsletter

Since returning from our Christmas break we have been exploring penguins.  Fun facts have been mixed in with games, puzzles, crafts and stories.  We have waddled like a penguin in our circle time as well as caring for a penguin egg (on our feet) and learning about the parts in the world where the penguins make their home.

VALENTINES–We will be celebrating Valentines on Tuesday, February, 13th.  If your child wishes to give Valentines to their classmates please address them to “MY FRIEND” (no individual names).  There are 17 children in the three year old class and 20 in the four year old class at this time.

Could we please have volunteers for special snack?  Sign up sheets will be on the exit doors next week.

PHOTOS–We will be having M.O. Photography coming to the preschool for class and individual photos in early March.  The three and four year old class will have their photos taken on Thursday, March 1st and the Friday morning class will have their photos taken on Friday, March 2nd.

SPRING BREAK– Lyndhurst Preschool will follow the same spring break closure as the schools in the Burnaby district and will be closed from Monday, March 19th and open again after Easter on Tuesday, April 3rd.

REGISTRATION–We will doing registration for our September programs during the month of February.  Please return forms ASAP so we can then go to our wait list to fill spaces should you choose not to return to Lyndhurst Preschool.  If you know of anyone interested in our programs please forward our information to them.

Four Year Old Breakfast with Santa

After a fun filled morning with Kathleen from Santa’s Science Lab (also know as High Touch High Tech) making reindeer candy, fake snow and our own instruments, Santa came and enjoyed breakfast with us.  When our belly’s were full we did the Jingle Bell Macarena and opened our gifts from him.  Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.

Thanks to all who helped us with special snack this morning.

Also a special thank you to all who gave us gifts.  They were very much appreciated and helped to make our Christmas special.

Hoping everyone had a fabulous Christmas and we will see you on January 9th.

Lyn and Vicki
